We are most proud to share the results of our project with Stagecoach Vineyards, a world-renowned estate in Napa Valley. Its spectacularly diverse terroir with steep hillsides and majestic mountaintop geography means the soil and climate requires meticulous vineyard management. With elevations ranging between 1,200 to 1,800 feet, Stagecoach has rocky soils and minerality that create distinct flavors and aromas. The grapes are stunning. Stagecoach consistently produces amazing fruit, largely due to the elevation above the fog layer, which exposes the vineyard to increased sunlight throughout the year. Ultimately, the fruit is dominated by classic mountainside characteristics such as big tannins and extremely complex fruit. At harvest, we hand picked and hand sorted the grapes to ensure only the best fruit went into the fermenter.
Best of Class: San Francisco Chronicle Competition, Jan 2018
Precise, intense yet delicate fruit, this wine starts with silky chocolate, strawberry, and mint. Its well-balanced acidity, tannins, and alcohol lead to beautiful rose petal, violet and blueberry flavors. The resulting 2014 finish is supple and robust, slowly unfolding with age to reveal a beautiful round and opulent vintage. Important: This wine should be decanted for 30 - 45 minutes and enjoyed at 56F - 62F
Pair with roasted pork tenderloin, roast of lamb with dijon mustard, pasta with bold red sauce, sharp and aged cheeses such as Stilton or a robust blue cheese.
