Marsanne and Roussanne are natural blending partners. Roussanne often brings a floral component to the wine, with pear and apricot flavors and a nice acidity. Marsanne can be a little less expressive, but lends texture to wine and is often noted for its honeycomb aromatics. 2017 was an interesting harvest for whites in how early they had to come in due to the heat. What it offered were bright citrus notes to go along with the Asian pear and honey that are traditional. This ended up being a perfect balance of liveliness and richness that make it a very versatile wine as we release this for summer and hopefully enough left to share for Thanksgiving. Enjoy!
