If you loved Tim's previous Proprietor's Reserve, you will not be disappointed with our newest release! We return to a true GSM with the 2016 vintage of the Proprietor's Reserve. This wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. In 2016, our Grenache block turned out some amazing fruit that ended up being the backbone of this elegant wine. The grenache brought with it bright pops of red fruit, persistent but silky tannins, and a clean finish. The syrah compliments that wine by adding depth, mid-palate, and dark fruit flavors and aromas. Finally, we include Mourvedre, bringing earthy flavors, a strawberry rhubarb aromatic component, taking a very nice wine and making it an amazing and complex wine! At release, the tannins are right where we want them. Present and calling for food, but still approachable now. Can this wine benefit from a little cellaring? Certainly. But would it go great with a rich cassoulet in front of a fire right now? Yes please.
This medium-bodied wine pairs beautifully with a creamy peppercorn steak and mushrooms, meatloaf and creamy mash potatoes, Boeuf Bourguignon and your favorite mac and cheese!
