This Viognier is a blend of our two blocks of Viognier here on our estate. Both picked the same day, but they offered very different aromatic profiles. From the beginning, Block 2 offered tropical notes (pineapple and guava) while block 7 offered a lot of flowers and honey. Block 7 during fermentation was very reminiscent of Orange Blossom honey! While many wines change throughout their life, these two Viognier block stuck pretty true to their early fermentation colors. Come blending time, they were a wonderful compliment to one another. Block 2 offered richness and tropical flavors, while block 7 offered floral finesse. Together they offer a beautifully balanced Viognier that will be a great summer evening wine.
Our 2016 vintage opens with floral aromatics and pronounced notes of tropical fruit, balanced with bright acidity and minerality, stone fruit and vanilla finish will surely make this Viognier your favorite go-to summer wine!
