The 2017 Viognier is once again a blend of our two blocks of Estate Viognier, with just a splash of Marsanne to a layer of honey and complexity. The heat we had during the white harvest in 2017 shifted the often tropical aromatics of our viognier to more citrus and citrus blossom. There are definitely still tropical notes in there, but they play a more supporting role than a leading one. Block 2 offered the pineapple and citrus zest components while Block 7 once again brought floral notes and a little orange blossom. Together they make a beautifully balanced and rich viognier to open with a nice summer BBQ.
