OLIVE OIL BLENDING & TASTING – CRAFTED AT APPELLATION

March 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Join us for this engaging class in the craft of olive oil blending with the local expert, Mary Louise Bucher, at the picturesque Trattore Farms. Mary Louise, a celebrated olive oil producer who recently appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, invites you to delve into the world of olive oil alongside her at the very place where she grows and mills the olives for her artisan olive oil – bottled under the name the Dry Creek Olive Company.

In this hands-on class, you will embark on a journey through the art and science of olive oil tasting and blending. Discover the nuances that each type of varietal brings to the table and learn how to discern and appreciate the distinct aromas and flavors. Engage in a guided tasting session where you will sample a range of olive oils, each with its unique character.

After the tastings, participants will then blend their own bottle of oil, applying the knowledge and techniques learned during the class. Each member’s personalized blend will then be bottled to take home to share and highlight what was learned during the class.

To complement the activity, attendees will be treated to a delightful array of foods prepared by Appellation co-founder and CEO, Chef Charlie Palmer.

Whether you are an enthusiast eager to learn more about olive oil, or simply looking for a unique experience, this class is a perfect blend of education, enjoyment, and epicurean delight. Join us for a memorable day inside the olive mill at Trattore Farms and take home not just your own customized bottle of olive oil, but an enriching experience and exceptional memories.
